After many months of waiting, COVID-19 vaccines are finally being widely distributed across Canada and many people are eagerly waiting to receive their shot.
Research from Abacus Data shows that 1 in 3 Canadians want to be vaccinated as soon as possible.
While you can receive a COVID-19 vaccine from a hospital or a clinic, vaccines are now also being distributed at your local pharmacies.
CTV reported that Canadian pharmacies are primed and ready to start administering the vaccines at their facilities. In fact, Shoppers Drug Mart has informed all levels of government that the company’s more than 1,300 locations need only 48 to 72 hours to be fully prepared for mass inoculations.
Ontario announced that pharmacists will start administering the AstraZeneca vaccine at 330 different locations to customers aged 60 to 64.
Quebec also announced the availability of COVID-19 vaccines at 350 pharmacies throughout the Montreal area.
This is great news for everyone because the vaccine can be distributed quicker and reach even the remote areas that don’t have a clinic or hospital nearby.
With the mass distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, Canadian pharmacies need the support of an established network of partners to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of vaccines.
